New Music!

I lost the ability to make .pdf files, so it has been a while since I've been able to upload the pieces that I have done.

The one I am most pleased with is "How Firm A Foundation." I took out the repeated line at the end of each verse, and did my usual minor verse, and actually changed the voicing a lot more than usual. I worked hard on this piece, and really like the way it turned out. I hope you like it, too!

"Come Unto Him" is a beautiful hymn from the hymnbook that is not used a lot. I love the visual nature of the words, and the music is beautiful. This arrangement is simple, pretty much out of the hymnbook, with the timing changed a bit in the third and fourth verses to better match the wording. Unfortunately, it has never been performed because we were working on it when I was released from ward choir director, and the next director didn't choose to continue working on it.

"What Wonderous Love Is This" came out of deperation. I tried to find the Stake copies of the music for Easter - and they were gone without a trace. I found a public copy of the music, and arranged it. I see the piece as building, starting with one voice, then a duet, then adding the choir, so it has organ with it to add to the building nature of the music. If you've never heard this piece before, it is a folk song, I think originating in Apalatian mountains.

"Come To Zion" is another hymn not frequently sung, but I enjoy how the arrangement works. There is a Soprano descant on the last verse that I like the sound of, though the words seem a bit simple and repetitive after practicing is as many times as we did... I hope they sounded fresh and new to the people listening!

I've also added .mp3 files for two that haven't been on before, "The Wondrous Gift" and "Follow the Lord."

Let me know if you perform a piece, and if you liked it!

Thanks!
